Hi Rob,
I am releasing new version of Fb connect+ today. It fixes a few bugs and allows to import connections like(Pages liked, favorite teams, favorite athelete etc).

I will post back after releasing. also, the behavior on login has changed. Now, the user will be redirected to homepage until and unless you specify a custom url using the new filters(I added them as you had requested it in another thread).

Hi Brajesh,
Is there a way to display some text on the page if someone is logged in already?
Let's say someone is logged in and for some reason goes to the login page. The current behavior is to not display the login button. Instead of the login button, could we display something like "Hey you are already logged in, why not check out the Activity Feed?"...with a link to site-wide activity. This would give them a heads up that they are already logged in.
What are your thoughts on this?
Rob

I think that sounds good.
I only have 20+ users and this has happened twice.
I'm encouraging new members to login/register with the FB Login button which I think will minimize this.
Thanks,

Ok fixed. The problem was that I had a Facebook Like button code on the page that has a JS snipit that was setting the APP ID to something else, so the login script was using that APP ID instead of the one I set for the login. I removed the JS script and it is now working.

Also before that, I was using an APP ID and Secret of another FB App I already had instead of creating one for this site, which errored out because the App Domain did not match the domain of the site. Make sure to match exactly, even the www. if your site is using www then make sure the app has the domain set that way too.

Ok thanks.

Hi Rob,
This could be a bug in FB connect+ too.

I have been updating it(yesterday and still working on tomorrow) and I see a scenario when It could happen.

If the User logged in to facebook has allowed the site(our Bp site) and the facebook account is associated to some bp account. Now, if the user logs in to Bp wth some other account and also logs in to facebook account, the plugin thinks the user has already allowed it and associates the Facebook account with new Bp account.

What do you suggest will be the best course of action(It is rare), should we logout the currently logged Bp user and make him logged in again with facebook account ?

Hi Brajesh!

Let's see, the problem is with the "bp-content-tabs" added to the div id class. It happens because I added the "buddypress" tag in header and footer so it can get the right styling from my theme. Problem is that it sort of automatically adds that to the class id. If I remove the "buddypress" tag from header and footer, it breaks the layout. So I just don't know what to touch, because the plugin php files related DON'T include the "bp-content-tabs". I've tried editing the CSS too, but then I break the whole styling...

Hi Alfredo,
I am glad to see the gallery is not breaking layout. The problem is with the naming of the subnav?(the class/Id)

Please use a text editor and open your theme/gallery/members/ [ every file]
you will see the above code at the top of the file. Just change their id/classs to whatever your theme recommend. make sure to keep the no-ajax class though.

Hope that helps.

Hi! I’m quite desperate trying to get this right. Problem is with BP Gallery plugin, I’ve included the
<?php get_header('buddypress') ?>
and the
<?php get_footer('buddypress') ?>
, and it indeeds gets the styling, BUT the menu bar below the main tab bar gets this DIV styling:
<div class="item-list-tabs bp-content-tabs no-ajax" id="subnav">
. In the php files is like this: “item-list-tabs no-ajax”, and THIS is the way it should be.
These are the screenshots:
WRONG:
http://planetacanalla.arscivitas.com/wrong.jpg
RIGHT: (as it should be)
http://planetacanalla.arscivitas.com/right.jpg
It just keeps the same styling for the upper tabs in the navigation bar below. Any ideas of how could I set the navigation bar styling right?

Thanx for your help!!

Hi Brajesh,
I've had a problem with two users now when they register for my site via BuddyPress and then tie the account to their FB account.
When they first create an account all is well. However, when they connect their account to FB problems arise.
It seems to have linked his account with the wpadmin account. His profile picture from FB is now on the wpadmin user and when he logs in with his FB creds it shows wpadmin has logged in. If he logs in using his original credentials (not via FB Connect) all is well.
What could be causing this?
-They get redirected to Profile page where they fill out remaining fields
-They are happy and come back to my site some other day

I just wanted to follow up - I changed my theme to Huddle (was using Mingle before) and it seems the Facebook connect module works as expected now. The user will connect with FB, and then their FB image is their BP image.

I notice you then have to go to Settings, enable use of Avatar, and then go to profile > Edit image just to update your profile image to something else.

So I change the Avatar. Log off. Then login again using Facebook connect - it changed my image BACK to the FB image.

Is anyone else seeing this behavior? Shouldn't it maintain the uploaded Avatar?

Please have a look at the bottom of BP Gallery plugin page. I had put a template bundle for suffusion. The theme.js is oudated though. You can use the suffusion bundle but will have to replace theme.js from the current gallery theme.

Hi Joe,
Please make sure you are using the flash uploader. It will allow you to upload multiple images.

The layout problem is related to theming. BP Gallery comes bundled with templates for BP default theme.

Here is a post on how to customize it for your theme

Hello folks,

Just installed BP Gallery on my site and it's completely messed up the layout of the site. The sidebar has been pushed down, there is no white background to the gallery, it's all over the place. Also, I couldn't seem to manage multiple image uploads. Even if I CTL+SELECTed images, only the last image selected would upload.

Here's a screen shot of what the site looks like on the Profile/ Gallery page with BP Gallery activated - http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v628/Dougy2040/site_gallery.jpg

I'm using WordPress 3.3.1 with BuddyPress 1.5.3.1 and the Suffusion theme (http://aquoid.com/news/themes/suffusion/)

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Towfiq,
Please put this line on the top of the file

<?php
global $bp;
if(empty($bp->signup->step))
        $bp->signup->step='request-details';

?>

That should do it.

Hi there, I bought a premium membership because I want to use the facebook connect+ plugin. Unfortunately I'm having a few issues that I hope you can help me fix. I've spent a few hours getting my head around exactly what the problem is and I've summarised my findings below to make it easier for you.

1) When a newcomer visits the site and uses the login with facebook feature, upon successful connection with facebook they are redirected to the login page for the website. This also happens for those who have already connected via facebook and wish to log in. Surely they should be redirected to the homepage as they are now logged in? They can re-enter the website homepage address and they can use the site as normal, it would appear that the only issue is the unneccessary redirect to the login page. How do I stop this?

It would be better if you could implement a feature whereby I could redirect them to a page of my choice based on both first time connection and/or future connections! This would mean upon first connection I could have a user redirected to a page where they can fill out the rest of their profile, then on future connects they are just redirected to the homepage. Or even better still if I could say the first of every x amount of logins the redirect goes to the page prompting them to update their profile.

2) While a user is logged into both facebook, and my BuddyPress site (via facebook, if they log out of the website, they are also logged out of facebook. How can I stop this?

3) Say a user is logged into a facebook account (lets call it fb-account-A) that is not linked to any buddypress profiles on the site... if that user then logs into a BuddyPress profile (which is linked itself to a different facebook account (say fb-account-B) they then can't log out of BuddyPress. The only way the user can log out is to first log out of facebook. This could pose a major problem to people who share computers and use the site (for instance if person A doesn't log out of their facebook then person B logs into the Buddypress site).

It has also made testing quite difficult (until I figured out what the problem was)

4) How can I put the "log in with facebook" button elsewhere on the site? Currently it is only on the login page, I would like it to be in the widget area for logged out users.

I would really appreciate your help on this.

Keep up the good work!

Dave

Thanks.
No, It would not be a problem though the appearance of BuddyPress menu on the first site still seems strange to me.
