Hey all. Just curious if anyone is successfully using an event calendar on their site and if so, could they share their opinions (pros and cons) about the one they are using?
Thanks
Faster, better and easier!

Seems like too many people are working on this separately.... BuddyPress just isn't big enough yet to have a dozen different plugins of the same... I would rather see one good one for starter... Looks like there are four big contenders and one is not a BP plugin:
Jet Event System: http://buddypress.org/community/groups/jet-event-system-for-buddypress/
I'm waiting until his 1.2 version to try this one...
EventPress: Just new from Google Summer of Code... Looks like some problems out of the gate....

Group Calender by WPMU Dev. (Premium)... Looks like the best and most full-featured... very expensive to join this group.

GigPress - Not a BP plugin, but we are successfully using a modified version of it (still not hooked for all users) for major announcements/calendar items on our BP site: http://musicpln.org
I'm look forward to trying either EventPress or Jet Event on their next major releases....
I've tried jet Event and, as what I can see after a short test, it is very good and weel integrated in BP.
The only problem I have is from my child theme (and the autor is looking for what is going wrong)
I've tried to install EventPress and it ask for BP complement... (I can't remember exactly) so I don't know how it works because I didn't find those addon
eventpress actually requires 2 separate plugins to operate, the downloads are on the project page. If you keep up with the author on twitter, you will notice that he seems to be updating the system around the clock.

I'm one of the guys reporting all the problems as there were so few people testing it for him. He attacks the problems right away and the code is very clean. It does have some serious potential. It might be best to wait a few days though, as the code changes by the hour right now.
@shawn, I tested it and posted my feedback after you did in eventpress gsoc blog around 1:00 A.M. today but either it got deleted or went to spam folder. In any case, I had a log of what I posted there and posted those at

Thanks for the suggestions. Im going to give them a try. :)
I have actually been using the group calendar from wpmudev, but just thought it was limiting because it was for groups.. but maybe i just got to figure a way to make it look more like it is NOT for a group (like add a nav link that points to the events group page or something).
