Not sure if I'm posting in the right area at all...but is anyone else having major issues with spammers on wpmu? I get at least 2-3 fake profiles everyday and each user creates a blog with spam. I've tried using CAPTCHA but it doesn't work. My members who have blogs have issues with spam comments on blogs, some of them up to 25 spam comments. Was just wondering if anyone had any ideas or solutions that may help reduce this crap. Help!

I think everybody using wpmu has the same issue with spam. Im surprised theres nothing out there to deal with it. also, aside from what i did on that link i sent, i also took the blog creation out of my registration form. that seemed to help alot too so that they cant auto create blogs immediately during registrtion.
as far as your users gettig spam comments.... they have to use akisimet. that stops all the spam. its just annoying to user to sign up for it. its free, but some users think it costs money, others dont comprehend how to set up the plugin. but it works.

Thanks for the posts guys, I'm so sorry for my delayed response! I'm going to have a look at those links.
I tried finding a plugin that would allow me to approve members before they join but I've gone through about 4 today and they all have errors of some type. Today I had about 12 spammers join and I hate them all!Will post back if I have ANY luck with these jerks, thanks so much again!
